impatient & Dying

We sit around like leashed dogs outside of coffee shops
Impatient & Dying for just a little attention

All we do is make small talk that leads no where
Or a lot of big talk that uses the same gps directions

What do I have to do to gain your affection
What must I do to gain any affection at all

If I ask for a kiss then you say I'm desperate
If I don't ask then I'm just as desperate

Disconnected
Heartless
Relentless
Unmerciful
Facade obeying emotion bullies

No one embraces any more
At least not for the joy of human contact

The days of telling someone you like them have died out like calligraphy
Simple beauty is no longer tolerated

Any show of the slightest pure unadulterated interest is immediately discarded like trash
Honesty is no longer the best policy

When was your last hug
When was your last kiss

When was your last honest attempt at genuine infatuation
When was the last time you liked someone and DIDN'T plan to fuck them

Emotional integrity is lacking albeit dead altogether
Virtuousness is no longer a part of our diction

But I bet a lot of you find the word diction funny for no reason
