I'd like to say that I know what sex means to me, other than satisfaction of a primal urge, but I can't say that at all. But then again I could. It just depends on my mood. But when I consider sex over all, I have to say that sex (fucking, making love, coupling, boning…you get the point…) is a paradox.
Sex is an action, but everything that happens during that interaction is a unique instance pertaining to each individual. A factual matter of opinion. You give, you receive. You supply & you demand. During sex you are a tool & you are a user. The junkie drug dealer.
Sex is a selfless act, yet it is one of the greediest actions in life. It doesn’t matter how you view sex because the person sitting beside you probably sees it differently. Are you making love, or are you fucking? Is the person you’re with making love to you or fucking you? Might you be doing both with the same stroke? How can we describe sex? We know the part about copulating, but is that it? Is that all that there is to sex? When does it become something more than sex? Does sex truly ever become anything more than sex?
We hear people talk about good sex & bad sex all the time, but these are simply personal opinions. One man’s trash is another man's treasure. One man's fantasy is just another man's abomination. I’d like to say that we’re able to agree or disagree on what sex is, but that would be a load of bull. Each generation sees sexual behavior as something different.
Porn star or whore? Virgin or prude? Are you promiscuous , or are you free? Are you both or neither? Even if your beliefs & moral standards are different than those around you, you’re still stuck questioning yourself, & your actions. You can accept what they say or you can deny any of their words as false, but that simply creates another moral dilemma. Are you in denial about your actions? Or are you naïve in believing what they say? Maybe there could be a grey line somewhere, but to someone else there is no grey, only black & white.
These are questions that can only be answered by the individual self. I’d love to tell you what sex is. I’d like to believe that it’s more than a simple interaction between genitalia, but I can’t tell you what sex is to you. Our views & opinions may differ, but that shouldn’t stop us from delving deeper into the subject. Maybe this has been an eye opener, maybe not. All I can truly tell you about sex is that I’d like to have some. And that’s all I have to say, for now.
